Bayou Diesel 2014
Bayou Diesel is a working cajun-zydeco Mardi Gras band in western North Carolina area. Based out of the Asheville area, Bayou Diesel has been performing traditional and ‘progressive’ high energy Louisiana style dance music since 2002. Over the years Bayou Diesel has toured the mountain highways performing for many of the major breweries, local clubs, parties, weddings, and several great Mardi Gras celebrations. We have played many regional festivals: two Asheville Bele Chere festivals, the French Broad River Festival, the Azalea Festival and 2014’s Mecklenburg County Cajun/Zydeco Festival in downtown Charlotte, NC. More recently, in April 2013, Bayou Diesel performed at the world-famous Merlefest in Wilkesboro, NC. In August 2013, the group sponsored a two-day Mid Summer Night’s Mardi Gras. 2014 also saw many opportunities for dance and revelry culminating with Mardi Gras in early March. In 2015 we will be heading back to Merlefest to play the late Saturday dance and the must-attend Midnite Jam! (April 25th, 2015)
For Mardi Gras 2015 (February 17th, 2015), Bayou Diesel will play the several dates around the annual Asheville Mardi-Gras Parade and celebration on February 15, 2015. We’ll be kicking off the season on January 23rd, 2015, at our favorite brew pub, Highland Brews in Asheville. For up coming shows and official video, find us on Facebook or Reverbnation.
